GDOT Project Contracts Awarded in Telfair and Treutlen Counties
ATLANTA (August 30, 2018) | Sen. Blake Tillery (R – Vidalia) recently announced that project contracts have been awarded to Telfair and Truelten counties from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The projects are collectively worth over $3.3 million and are part of the more than $64 million awarded for projects statewide.
“Thanks to the hard work of local elected officials and the diligence of GDOT, our counties have the funding needed to make improvements,” said Sen. Tillery. “Maintaining and upgrading our infrastructure, especially in rural parts of Georgia, is essential not only to transportation, but economic development and safety.”
The project in Telfair County, worth over $1.8 million, will address 4.3 miles of resurfacing on SR 27 from the Dodge County line to south of Paulding Drive. It has an expected completion date of June 30, 2019. The second project, worth over $1.5 million, will address bridge rehabilitation along I-16 in Bleckley, Emanuel, Laurens and Treutlen counties.
Information on schedules, lane closures and detours will be made available in advance of construction activities. Routine Maintenance Contracting opportunities are available.
