Hazlehurst Airport Awarded Funding for Runway Pavement Rehabilitation

ATLANTA (November 19, 2019) | Sen. Blake Tillery (R – Vidalia) recently announced the City of Hazlehurst has been awarded a contract to fund the remarking, crack seal and overlay of Hazlehurst Airport’s runway as part of the Fiscal Year 2020 Airport Aid Program. The contract award is worth over $94,000 and is being funded with state and federal funds through the Federal Aviation Administration’s grant to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

“I am happy to see another airport rehabilitation project coming to our district,” said Sen. Tillery. “Its projects like these that help us expand the portfolio we have to offer to businesses looking to move to our area and help increase the safety of the airport for those who use it. I’m grateful to Gov. Kemp, Reps. Greg Morris, Jimmy Pruett and Dominic LaRiccia, and our colleagues in the legislature who helped us secure this funding to improve our aviation infrastructure.”
