IMG_0362Blake Tillery qualified on March 7th as a candidate for State Senator representing District 19.   “I am running because I believe in low taxes, small government, bringing new jobs to South Georgia through economic development, and improving our infrastructure” said Tillery.

 

Regarding Senator Williams’ decision to not run again, Tillery said, “Tommie Williams has been a good friend, mentor and public servant.  I had the pleasure of working both on his campaigns and in his Senate office in Atlanta. We need more people like him.”

 

Tillery is the current Chairman of the Toombs County Commission and serves on the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission and is a member of Kiwanis.  Previously, Tillery served on the Workforce Investment Board, the Board of the Boys and Girls Club, as Treasurer of the local Republican Party, and worked on the campaign of Congressman Max Burns.

 

Tillery is engaged to be married to Ashlee Nichole Sharer from Wayne County and is a member of First Baptist Church.

 

Named as a Georgia Trend 40 Under 40 honoree in 2013, Blake Tillery is a member of the Leadership Georgia class of 2015, a graduate of Republican Leadership for Georgia, and the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute.

 

Dr. Wayne Williams, campaign finance chairman stated, “I’ve been impressed with Blake Tillery and have seen his record of results in our county.  Blake will produce the same type of results for our Senate District because of his vision, maturity and work ethic.”
