VIDALIA GA- Senator-Elect Blake Tillery is hosting a scholarship competition for middle and high school age students in the 19th Senatorial District.

Students will be asked to identify the most useless, outdated or worst Georgia law or regulation, explain why it should be repealed, and explain the necessary process to do so. The winner will receive a cash prize scholarship, an invitation to page during the 2017 General Assembly Session, and the teacher of the winning student will receive a $150 of classroom supplies. The second and third place winners will also receive a cash prize.

When asked about the scholarship Tillery stated: “We wanted to find a creative, hands-on way to keep young citizens involved in the political process. We hope this creates interest with our next generation of mayors, council-members, and senators.”
